What's Cooking - Part Two

Wednesday, April 30, 2014

Here are some of the meals I've made in the last couple months.

Red pepper and muenster omelet, bacon, mixed fruit, and skillet sweet potatoes

Corned beef, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes for St. Patrick's Day. The corned beef was so tough! Next year I'll try again with hopefully better results.

What's-left-in-the-fridge "Mexican" soup with avocado and cilantro

Smoky bacon chili - I added a box of chicken stock to make it more of a soup.

I made vegetable stock for the first time! It was so easy and flavorful. I used this with a pot roast.

Lemony garlicky kale with sausage

Spinach salad with tomatoes, mozarella, cranberries, and pomegranate vinegar

Lovely kite-flying shot from my favorite photographer's personal blog

Seeing this made me start getting excited for Derby next week! :-) Even far away from Louisville, I still have a Derby party to attend - so fun!

Have you heard of B Corp certification?

This blog is always interesting! Really enjoyed this one this week.

I hadn't thought about this before, but apparently L-shaped streets are super uncommon in NYC

Love getting to see how a typical day goes for one of my favorite designers, Anna Bond of Rifle Paper Co.

3. Ben and Jerry's Hazed and Confused

4. Essie's Big Spender nail polish

6. Trader Joe's roasted coconut chips

7. USPS mailboxes everywhere throughout the city
